A big thank you

There is no better way to start this blog than to thank all the librarians and archivists in Cambridge University who contributed to my study of community engagement in special collections in Cambridge University colleges. It would never have worked without you. Thank you!

The study is titled Rarely Sited because of the priviledged position in which many of these collections sit: in historic libraries in a top University, often outside the public sphere. It also puns on the sparsity of literature on community engagement in special collections in general and documentation of good practice in Cambridge collections in particular. I hope to be able to do a bit to promote the work that librarians and archivists in Cambridge already do to engage non-academic audiences, and support and encourge further efforts. Let’s be a little more frequently cited/sighted.
